Brasilian instrumental music group formed in 2007 by André Chayb (guitar, guitar, viola, theremin, voice, noises), Janari Coelho (drums, percussion, voice, noises) and André Gurgel (bass, guitar, voice, noises). With extensive experience, the trio works with authorial instrumental music with a lot of influence of jazz in all its aspects, progressive rock, free improvisation, Brazilian rhythms and contemporary classical music (minimalism, atonalism, serialism, geometry and electroacoustics). When developing your themes, there is always room for explosion and silence creating colors and unpredictable and intriguing textures. PROTOFONIA members are also members of the Orquestra Quântica Brasileira, a pioneer in the world in quantum music (an area that the band has researched hard) under the guidance of the Danish Kim Helweg and Mário Brasil (Department of Music at UnB).
