Jota Dale Combo is the musical collective responsible for bringing the work of composer and sound engineer Jota Dale to life. Ever-changing, once a trio and a quartet, now settled as a septet - with the distinguished presences of Munha da 7 [bass], Tiago Cunha [drums], Gabi Ila [keys], George Lacerda [Percussion], Adil Silva [Trombone] and Marcos Cohen [Clarinet] – they’re commited to a very particular musical language that embraces a wide range of Brazilian rhythms (with a pinch of Jota Dale’s own approach, naturally). Jota Dale Combo’s first release – Exú – offers an instrumental, urban-polyphonic approach to the ancient chants from Afro-Brazilian religious tradition. Stay safe and listen to good music.
