Felipe Lopes

The act of creating is a human condition that can be developed by practice or forgotten by the unbridled consumption. What makes me an artist is the love I have for creative activity. Since childhood my relationship with pen and blank sheet is harmonious. I always liked to represent the world through concrete ideas, like drawing or music. It has been my favorite fun.

I was born in Fortaleza, a beach city of Brazil. I grew up watching the natural beauty of beaches and forests due to several trips that my father did in his employment of agronomist and biologist. Later, in my teenage years I moved to Brasilia, a city planned and built along the lines of modernist philosophy. These antagonistic experiences in environments influenced my way of seeing the world and expression through art.

I am grateful for having the opportunity to dedicate part of my time to projects with no initial demand and no security of financial return. I think it's healthy that creative activity regularly collides with what already works well, with what's already accepted, with what's clearly commercial. It is a detachment necessary to produce something new. I apply this philosophy in Worsa, soacaos, F L P S projects.

The label torto disco was founded by me and others artists who have the same creative ideal. The idea is to promote creative and different music regardless of the amount of views, likes, internet traffic and other quantitative data that do not really assess whether something is good or bad artistically speaking.
